Opera, Toffco, Dynavector, Well Tempered Lab

A different look for an Opera speaker, huh?

But the system sounded quite good! Most defintely my favorite Opera speaker to date. Open and effortless sounding, but controlled at the same time. I didn't get to stay and do any REAL critical listening - but this was one of the few systems at the show worth paying more attention to [out of 10-15 maybe?] .

When I first entered this room, the exhibitors were all excited about the golf-ball tonearm - that I should want to take photos of THAT. Me, I was more intrigued by the Opera speakers, and even the tiny little string they are using on the 'belt' drive here on the turntable.

I guess if you needed a round object as part of your tonearm, about golf-ball sized, then presumably they do try and manufacture golf-balls so that they are very consistant from one to the other - so I guess it is not a BAD choice. But I'm not going to get all excited about it :-)
